What is The Safest Drinking Water During Flights?

                                                Life Keep Up

A flight stewardess broke off shocking news about how drinking water on an airplane is stored.

The anonymous flight assistant warned, "Don't drink the hot water on the plane."

The drinking water used by travelers during flight is the same water we drink daily.  It originates from the leading water utility company. In this case, the enigma is not from the water source.  So why does the flight attendant warned us not to drink?

In our homes, the water pipe supply directly links from the water utility company.  However, water from airliners is transported from the water company to the aircraft's water storage compartment.  They use water trucks to transport the water from the main water supply to the apron, and then it is injected into the aircraft using water pipes.  Both the water pipes and storage are not clean and diligent as you think.    The transfer of the water from one container to another increases the chance of contamination.

The cleaning standard technology of the water pipe and storage may differ from various regions. The process for the regular cleaning cycle is only once every hundred fights in a year.

The North American Environmental Protection Agency conducted a water sampling quality on 12 aviation companies, and 8 of the airline firms failed to meet the standard quality requirement.  Some of the bacteria detected are Salmonella, Escherichia coli, and even small insect eggs. On a long-distance or international flight, the water quality is even worst.

Air pressure also attributes to water quality. Other regions may require 100 degrees boiling point, other maybe less.  As a result, your fresh hot beverage may not be prepared for the maximum degree of water boiling point.

So how to avoid drinking unclean water on the plane? First of all, you may try to prepare coffee and tea and other beverages in the airport terminal, most especially for formula milk.  Bottled water is available at the airport or during flight. You may ask to use this for boiling to serve your coffee instead of the regular aircraft water.  Bottled water product on the plane is filled and provided the same as in your grocery or convenience store. You can also drink other products like cola, bottled juice, and other alcoholic beverages.

Due to the effect of COVID this 2020, other extra safety measures may require the use of high alcohol content disinfectant wet wipes materials before any contact with public utility use.  And if you cannot avoid drinking and eating during extended flights, you can use spunlace nonwoven fabric material for wet wipes on tray tables.  Spunlace nonwoven fabrics are made of polyester and cotton cloth fabrics manufactured in China; it is durable and reliable for cleaning any surface.

Good thing that wet wipes are allowed in the airport with no restriction or limit, unlike liquid alcohol.  Do not forget to reserve a pack every time you have a scheduled flight.  You may also purchase at any convenient store on your way to the airport.  Or, if your travel is not necessary, better stay home and wait for the vaccine before you book that next flight.
